ห้าชีวิต (Five Characters in Search of an Exit) นายทหารยศพันตรีลืมตาตื่นขึ้น เขาจำอะไรไม่ได้เลย และไม่ทราบว่าเขาอยู่ที่ไหน จึงเดินสำรวจไปเรื่อยๆ จนพบผู้อื่นอีก 4 คน ทุกคนพูดเหมือนกันว่า จำไม่ได้ว่ามาอยู่ที่นี่ได้อย่างไร นานแค่ไหน ต่างพยายามช่วยกันคิดก็คิดไม่ออก และพยายามหาทางออกก็ไม่พบ เมื่อนายทหารพยายามจะปีนกำแพงหนี ทุกคนลองเชื่อเขาและพยายามต่อตัวปีนขึ้นไป เมื่อไม่สำเร็จก็ใช้เสื้อผ้าของทุกคนทำเชือก เพื่อให้นายทหารใช้ปีนออกไปจนสำเร็จ และได้คำตอบในที่สุดว่า พวกเขาอยู่ที่ไหน
